Position Title: Special Education Teacher / Math Interventionist (1.0 FTE)
Position Overview:
This full-time position is split between two roles within the school setting.
(0.5 FTE) Special Education Teacher:
The educator will support students with identified social-emotional and behavioral needs. This includes providing both behavioral and academic interventions aligned with students’ IEP goals and individualized support plans. Collaboration with general education staff, specialists, and families is essential to ensure student success.(0.5 FTE) Math Interventionist:
The educator will provide math intervention services for students in grades K–6. Interventions may be delivered in a variety of instructional settings, including within the classroom, small groups, or one-on-one. The focus will be on closing academic gaps and supporting core instruction through targeted, data-driven strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs for students with SEL/behavioral and academic needs
Provide behavioral support and interventions using a trauma-informed, restorative approach
Collaborate with school teams to support inclusive practices
Design and deliver math intervention lessons based on student data
Progress monitor and adjust instruction based on student growth and needs
Communicate regularly with families and staff to support student development
Qualifications:
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements (Special Education required; Elementary or Math preferred)
Experience working with students with behavioral needs and implementing positive behavior supports
Knowledge of math intervention strategies and data-driven instruction
Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
