Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 60 hours of college credit earned and/or;
  • Valid DESE substitute teacher certificate
  • Experience supervising school-aged children preferred
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide instruction to students
  • Follow a classroom disciplinary plan
  • Follow lesson plans and activities provided by the regular teacher to implement and supplement instruction
  • Participate in training for substitute teachers
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and discipline, as directed by the building principal
  • Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner, as requested by the building principal
  • Communicate as needed with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns, as requested by the building principal
  • Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
  • Implement special educational plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs, and individual health plans that are in place for students within the classroom assigned
  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as directed by board policy
  • Subject area substitute teachers may have additional duties and responsibilities
  • Other duties that may be assigned

TERMS: Part-time without benefits; $135-$155 per day depending on qualifications
EFFECTIVE: 2025-2026 school year
SCREENING TO BEGIN: Immediately; open until filled
CLASSIFICATION:  Non-exempt
