The successful candidate can and will:
* Align their leadership to D59's core purpose and 21st century practices through a deliberate one district approach to decision making, professional growth, and communication.
* Develop and/or enhance a culture of learning by serving as the chief learner in the building and displaying a willingness to learn with the learners.
* Build and/or improve capacity for thinking schools and classrooms by asking reflective questions and providing regular and relevant feedback to staff.
* Develop and/or augment a culture of trust and partnership by sharing the decision making process and relying on the feedback of staff and stakeholders to improve and align the learning system.
Required Qualifications:
* Must Have a Professional Educator License with a Principal or General Administrative Endorsement in the State of Illinois
* Advanced Degree from an Accredited College/University
* Minimum of 5 Years of Teaching Experience
* Previous Leadership/Coaching Experience Involving Working With Teachers and Staff
* Ability to Project Positive Images to Students, Staff Members, Parents, the Board of Education, and Community Members
* Background in special education preferred
* Oral and Written Fluency in Both Spanish and English Languages preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in Implementing the Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Learning Skills
* Demonstrates a Record of Dynamic Leadership That Includes Partnering with Staff and Parents
* Experience Working With Students Identified as Needing Special Education Services
* Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills With Students, Staff and Parents
* Must be an Independent, Innovative Administrator as Well as Have the Ability to be Part of an Effective Leadership Team
* Strong Commitment to Student Learning, Continuous Improvement and Data-Based Decision Making
* Experience Working With a Diverse Population and Programming a plus
Additional Information:
Compensation = Base salary beginning at $110,000. Experience will be considered.
School Calendar = This school is on a Balanced Calendar (2025-26 Balanced Calendar)
