K-5 Instructional Math Coach

The position for a K-5 Instructional Math Coach will be available at East Central ISD for the 2025-2026 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Instructional Coach will provide instructional support and coaching to teachers as they work to ensure that each student is able to reach his or her academic potential. The Instructional Coach’s primary role is to work with teachers to support best practices in using data, provide analysis of school-wide trends in instruction, and make recommendations about potential next steps to address areas of need.  Specifically, they will focus on Texas Bluebonnet Math curriculum fidelity to increase teacher knowledge and implementation of evidence-based practices to positively impact student mathematics achievement. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to establish realistic and measurable objectives related to both the teacher’s individual professional development and student learning. 
  2. Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through planning, coaching and collaborative problem-solving. 
  3. Ensure faithful implementation of Texas Bluebonnet Math; including participating in LASO 3.0 training and observation cycles.
  4. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
  5. Demonstrate teaching strategies and model lessons with students in the classroom.
  6. Plan and provide appropriate staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff.
  7. Work with teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies.
  8. Develop curriculum support materials as needed.
  9. Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in the area assigned.
  10. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
  11. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
  12. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with Grant objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:
Master’s degree from an accredited university preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate - EC-6 Generalist 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
Knowledge and experience with Eureka/Tx Bluebonnet curriculum
Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Teaching experience in elementary math  

EQUIPMENT USED:  Standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals.  

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:  Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of a mouse; occasional reaching.  Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Frequent district-wide travel; occasional statewide travel.  

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT:  2025-2026 School Year
SALARY:  Based on 2025-2026 Classroom Teacher Salary Schedule (LASO 3.0 Grant Funded - 1 year)
