Position Summary:
Le Sueur-Henderson Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Hispanic Outreach Coordinator to serve as a vital link between the school district and our Hispanic families. This position plays an essential role in promoting academic success for students by fostering positive relationships, ensuring effective communication, and supporting families in navigating the educational system.
Qualifications:
Bilingual required – fluent in both Spanish and English
Minimum of a high school diploma
Preferred: 2- or 4-year college degree, or
60 credits from a higher education institution, or
Must be willing to complete certification for interpreting and translating in schools.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff
Experience working in diverse cultural and linguistic settings is a plus
Schedule & Compensation:
.5 FTE (1040 annual hours)
20 hours/week during the school year
Up to 10 additional hours/month for outreach services
10 hours/month in summer (excluding June)
10 standard paid holidays
Position runs 10 months annually (June off)
Compensation: $22–$25/hour, based on experience
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Build and maintain positive relationships with Hispanic families to support student growth and engagement
Coordinate supplemental state programs as assigned
Translate school district documents and serve as interpreter for meetings and communications
Conduct home visits and phone contacts as needed
Support families in accessing outside services and resources
Help monitor and support student behavioral expectations district-wide
Participate in meetings and professional training sessions as requested
Support students during Extended School Year (ESY) as interpreter
Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
Perform other duties as assigned
Self starter that requires minimal guidance
