Description

  1. TITLE:  Registrar – High School

  2. QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High School Diploma.
    2. Strong computer skills.
    3. Proficiency in the secretarial skills of typing, filing, office procedures, operations of office equipment and machines.
    4. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
    5. Strong organizational skills.
    6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
       
  3. REPORTS TO:  Building Administrator.
     
  4. JOB GOALS:
    To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.

    To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the counselors' office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of students can be achieved.
     
  5. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Prepares and distributes mid-term and trimester report cards.
    2. Updates and maintains student transcripts, grades, student records, and special education data.
    3. Coordinates dual student grades with Emerson, as needed.
    4. Prints and sends all transcripts as requested.
    5. Assists counselors in determining senior graduation status. 
    6. Inputs Attendance Review Committee grades for students with excessive absences.
    7. Assists new students with the registration process and completes and sends all necessary correspondence.
    8. Inputs and maintains the Master Schedule of courses. Enters student course requests and teaching assignments.
    9. Prepares student schedules, teacher class lists, etc.
    10. Coordinates the registration process with the school counselors.
    11. Performs all paperwork and computer entry required for student checkout.
    12. Prepares graduation lists; orders diplomas, certificates and awards; prepares diplomas for presentation, and performs all other duties associated with graduation as requested.
    13. Prepares and completes paperwork and reports as needed.
    14. Performs routine clerical duties; such as filing, placing and receiving telephone calls, etc.
    15. Assists other office personnel as schedule allows.
    16. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
    17. Has regular and predictable attendance.
       
  6. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Performs all other duties as assigned.
       
  7. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    This position is scheduled for 8 hours per day, 208 days per year.  Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy.  Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 6- $17.11 or $17.99 per hour depending on experience.

    This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.  The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
     
  8. EVALUATION:
    Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.

    This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty.
