Position:  Dance Teacher - RCA

Program/Department:  Regional Center for the Arts - Dance Department  

Position Length:  10 Months, following the 2025-2026 School Year

Salary Range:  $52.39 per hour (12 hours per week)

Anticipated Start Date:  August 21, 2025

Qualifications:  Either a bachelor's degree in dance or a degree in another subject area with significant professional experience in dance.  Candidate does NOT need to be a certified teacher.

Responsibilities:  RCA is a part time inter-district magnet high school committed to bring together people of diverse cultural heritage to develop in all students the knowledge, skills, attitudes and self-discipline to reach their fullest artistic potential, to live a productive life and to contribute to society as creative engaged citizens.  Responsibilities include planning instruction and teaching assigned classes, creating and administering assessments, maintaining accurate records of student attendance and achievement, collaborating with other members of the RCA faculty, attending staff meetings, communicating with parents, and other assigned duties.  Teacher will have classes Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:45pm - 4:45pm.

We are seeking a dynamic dance teacher who can teach a variety of dance genres and styles including contemporary and modern.  We are particularly interested in finding someone who can teach a variety of experience levels and can inspire our students to reach their individual potential.  Professional experience in dance, teaching and choreography is highly desired.  For more information about the position, please contact Eric Nyquist at nyquiste@cestrumbull.org.
