POSITION:                               Maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO:                          Director of Facilities Operations
EMPLOYMENT STATUS:         Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week, FLSA Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:      

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrates knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
• Certified Ohio Building Operator (or willingness to obtain)
• Industry credential for Electrician, Plumber, Master Carpenter, or HVAC preferred
• Demonstrates ability to operate maintenance equipment (snow plow, salt spreader, hydraulic lift, various hand tools, and heavy equipment
• Demonstrates ability to interpret and communicate information found on Safety Data Sheets
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational and technology skills
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Hold a valid Ohio Driver’s License

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain Warren County Career Center’s facilities and equipment.  This work will be completed according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the district’s mission and vision. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain the district’s facilities and equipment
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment as needed and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment utilizing the work order system
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments
• Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facility systems
• Collaborates with contractors to proactively address facility needs
• Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detects faulty operations, defective material and reports those and any unusual situations to Director of Facilities Operations
• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas
• Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured and locked, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off
• Assists with the upkeep of the grounds – mowing, trimming, picking up litter, etc.
• Removes snow and ice when needed, shovels and sands walks, driveways, parking areas and steps as appropriate
• Keeps an inventory of supplies and equipment
• Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities
• Assists in the warehouse as needed (loading and unloading supplies, delivering to assigned areas, etc.).
• Makes pick-ups and deliveries using district owned vehicles

Salary Range:  $23.02 - $29.40/ hour
