Classification: Certified Exempt - Full-Time (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week)
Contract Period: 185 working days
Salary Range
- *$54,000 to $82,320 (Based on education and years of relevant teaching experience) *The annual salary listed above is based on a full-time, 8-hour workday (FTE 1) and a full working calendar. For positions with less than a full FTE or reduced hours, such as part-time or late-start positions, the salary will be prorated accordingly. Certified Salary Schedule

Position Overview
- The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) Coach plays a crucial role in enhancing instruction by collaborating with regular classroom teachers, thereby positively impacting the learning of emerging bilingual students. The CLDE Coach ensures alignment, consistency, and ongoing improvement in all aspects of programming for these students, focusing on their English Language Development (ELD) and academic progress. By providing support and guidance, the CLDE Coach helps ensure that emerging bilingual students make adequate growth in both language acquisition and their overall academic performance. In addition, the CLDE Coach will include teaching at least 1 additional core academic or elective class outside of ELD.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide instruction for at least 1 additional core academic or elective class outside of ELD.
- The CLDE Coach works with regular classroom teachers to impact instruction for emerging bilingual students.
- Focus areas are on Literacy-Based ELD instructional settings, incorporating the WIDA Framework for content area instruction in math, science and social studies.
- The CLDE Coach ensures the school adheres to policies and procedures for determining CLDE program eligibility, re-designation, monitoring and exiting.
- The CLDE Coach addresses required programming criteria: All emerging bilingual students have English, math, science, social studies, specials/electives, and Literacy-Based ELD instructional settings are implemented.
- The CLDE Coach works with problem solving teams to help determine the root cause and make appropriate placements into CLDE Instructional settings and/or Literacy Interventions for emerging bilingual students.
- The CLDE Coach attends regularly scheduled professional development sessions to enhance coaching skills, ensure alignment with the District CLDE Team’s goals, and continuously improve practices.
- The CLDE Coach takes on several roles: resource provider, data coach, ELD specialist, bilingual education expert, mentor, facilitator, leader and catalyst for change.
Necessary Credentials
- Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution in CLDE, Spanish or Linguistics, or a related field of study.
- MUST have an active Colorado Teaching License with a CLDE Endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. If additional coursework or a preparation program is required, the applicant must provide proof of enrollment and submission of the required documentation to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) within 30 days of employment.
- This position requires the completion of the READ ACT Training.
- Official transcripts must be provided upon hire. For international transcripts, an evaluation is required through a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Desired Qualifications and Compencies
- Experience and knowledge of English Language Development and theories of Bilingual Education is required.
- Understanding of the WIDA Standards Framework, WAPT and ACCESS is required.
- Demonstrated skills and success in providing the necessary supports in teaching content standards and incorporating appropriate language functions into product and process of instruction is necessary.
- Prior experience working with adults regarding instruction and assessment is recommended and understands adult development.
- The CLDE Coach is able to diagnose and support the needs of teachers.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements
