Coordinator of Behavior/Wellness Support Services
Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools
2025-2026 School Year

                 Position:     Coordinator of Behavior/Wellness Support Services 

                 Reports to:   Pupil Service Director

                Employment Status:   Full Time (186 days: $45,000 salaries)

               Description:    Improve learning outcomes for all students through prevention activities,
implementation of behavior procedures and/or behavior intervention plans, professional
development, family engagement and ongoing coaching and support for colleagues


 Essential Functions:

 * Assess, coordinate, and implement behavior analysis services and behavior interventions
plans for general education and special education students with complex/less involved
and/or severe/predictable behaviors in enrolled educational programs.


 * Provide support and professional development for staff and families in district to include
data collection and analysis, functional behavior assessments, conducting assessments
that conform to IDEA, Ohio Law, trauma informed care practices, least restrictive
environment
*Observe and gather data for administration of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) 
*Develop and present reports at student/teacher/parent meetings including various data
collection updates, functional behavior assessment findings, behavior intervention plans,
behavior contracts
*Effectively develop plans as directed by data and assessments
 
*Manage aggressive behavior by using best practices and as a last resort the physical
intervention part of CPI following all reporting and debriefing guidelines as set by the
Ohio Department of Education and Board Policy

*Provide coaching and support to teachers and paraprofessionals in implementation of
behavior goals and/or plans in the classroom/school setting
 
*Develop safety plans for students who need this in addition to a behavior intervention
plan

 *Provide direct intervention services to students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and
provide support and professional learning for staff who work with these students. May be
directed by a Behavior Intervention Plan, Individualized Education Plan
 
*Coordinates services to include, but not limited to clinical counseling, school counseling,
family resources, contracted consulting services
 
*Research and disseminate best practices in academic and behavior interventions
 
*Collaborate with teachers to create grade level resources to support student learning
 
*Attend and participate in building PBIS meetings
 
*Maintain accurate records as required

* Attend parent/teacher conferences when appropriate

*Take necessary precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities
 
*Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, (e.g. student grades, family
information, special education paperwork)
 
*Attend meetings and in-services per contract
 
*Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents and school personnel

 *Provide recommendations for appropriate intervention for students referred to MTSS
 
*Have in depth-knowledge of data collection and progress monitoring
 
*Model intervention strategies in the classroom
 
*Develop and provide materials for/with colleagues
 
*Visit classrooms and provide feedback when requested by teachers
 
*Connect families with resources when needed
 
*Plan family engagement activities (e.g. parent workshops, parent-student event)


Other Duties and Responsibilities:
 
*Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner
 
*Interact with other departments and school personnel when necessary
 
*Consult/Notify school counselors at the building, school psychologist and/or building
administration when there are attendance, health, academic and psychological emotional
concerns or problems

*Perform other duties as assigned as appropriate to the job title


Qualifications:
 *Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, human development, psychology, or special
education
 
*Experience working with behavior preferred

*Prior teaching experience preferred
 
*Knowledge of research-based interventions
 
*RBT certificate preferred
 
*CPI certified preferred
