Instructional Aide

Position Purpose

Assist in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. To accomplish these tasks, the Teacher Aide works closely with staff and administration to promote and execute the instructional plan of the building.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work under the direction of the classroom teacher and assist with the responsibility to increase student achievement.
  • Assistance with restrooms and feeding needs of students if necessary.
  • Model professionalism in appearance, actions, and attitude.
  • Ensure that all activities conform to building and district guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
  • React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Appropriately operate all classroom equipment.
  • Support the value of an education.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, calculator, and telephone

Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Pay Rate
$15.61 per hour. 

Work Schedule
7.25 hours per day
182 days per year.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to assist, instruct, and supervise a diverse population of young children.
  • Ability to possess a positive attitude and relationship towards students, parents, and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
  • Previous experience is preferred.
