Elementary School Counselor
Albert Einstein Academy, Strongsville Campus

Job responsibility:
- Implement and oversee school guidance programs that provides students with a safe and non-judgmental way to voice their concerns or worries
- Assist school administrators and educators with planning and carrying out school-related programs and events
- Analyze student performance in the classroom to provide guidance and identify potential problems
- Help students develop academic plans in accordance with their skills, talents and strengths
- Work collaboratively with the school certified and supportive staff
 -Facilitate crisis intervention and prevention programs
- Communicate with teachers, parents and administrators on an ongoing basis about behavioral and academic problems
- Collaborate with district staff and others as needed to provide effective support, focused on student achievement for all students for each school.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Current licensure as a school counselor preferred.
- Knowledge of Ohio learning standards and extended standards
- Knowledge of special education Laws.
- Ability to work well under pressure as well as effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently.
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:
The position is a teacher school year schedule plus 10 additional workdays. Holiday, and sick leave consistent with AEA’s current employment policies. Salary is to be determined.

Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to travel between district facilities when scheduled to do so
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
- Must be able to function in a typical school setting.
- Mobility within the school including movement from floor to floor.
- Travel via car may be required to perform this job.
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when school or district needs warrant
- Must be able to access information using a computer.
- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
- Effectively cope with stressful situations
- Strong mental acuity
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
- Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.
