Coach/Trainer
Description
Cheerleading Coach is responsible for the following:
- Instructing and coaching cheerleaders, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport
- Managing all matters relating to the organization and administration of the team under his/her discretion
- Abiding by all relevant Board policies and administrative guidelines
- Enforcing all rules of the Illinois elementary School Association
- Planning practice sessions with specific training objectives
- Attending and coaching team at all home girls and boys basketball games
- Maintaining a complete, accurate squad roster and submitting copies to AD when requested
- Monitoring the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met
- Following established procedures for supplies and uniforms
- Maintaining reasonable supervision over the team at all times, including locker room supervision until all squad members have left the building.
- Arranging for the presentation of team awards through the Athletic Office on time
- Enforcing rules and regulations concerning conditioning of players, their health and safety, and conduct pursuant to the Athletic Code
- Reporting injuries promptly and exercising grat care in dealing with all injuries, particularly those of a serious nature, and securing the signed approval of a doctor and parent before the athlete is allowed to participate again
- Displaying professional conduct and sportsmanship at games and tournaments and expecting team members to do the same
- Maintaining effective individual and team discipline and control
- Establishing the fundamental philosophy, skills, and knowledge to be taught to the athletes
- Providing opportunties for all members of the team to participate, consistent with thier ability
- Developing rapport with the athletic coaching staff, other teachers, and administrators
- Promoting all sports in the athletic program
- supporting team and individual accomplishments
- Communicating and cooperating with parents
