Credentials:
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Ohio teacher’s license or certificate is preferred.
- Meets all legally mandated health requirements.
- Provides documented evidence of a clear criminal record as required by law.
- Demonstrates an aptitude for technical skills, knowledge, and coaching proficiency.
- Successful completion of a sports injury course and CPR training and any other courses required by the Ohio Department of Education.
- Meets all prerequisite qualifications to be bonded.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation will be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.
- Follows board policies/administrative procedures and supports the district mission statement. Supports the district and building athletic codes of conduct.
- Organizes, administers, supervises, and evaluates the assigned athletic team according to the policies and regulations of the board, the Ohio department of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, and the athletic conference/league.
- Meets with the director of athletics/activities to develop and review budgets, schedules, policies/procedures, handbooks, etc. in pre- and post-season meetings.
- Attends all mandatory local and state meetings and training programs as assigned.
- Maintains records, reports and inventories and submits reports in a timely manner.
- Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
- Informs parents/guardians and athletes of program objectives, regulations, responsibilities, and required documentation.
- Selects, trains, and supervises support personnel, i.e., student managers and trainers as required.
- Coordinates and implements tryouts, practice and game schedules in conjunction with the school calendar and the director of athletics/activities.
- Develops, administers and evaluates the off-season training program/activities.
- Provides marketing of student athletes for financial or scholarship opportunities.
- Supervises collection of necessary fees.
- Organizes, maintains, and supervises equipment and inventories, making recommendations for future needs.
- Helps with supervision responsibilities related to the preparation and maintenance of athletic fields, training facilities, and locker rooms.
- Notifies the director of athletics/activities of special needs or arrangements for scheduled events.
- Provides information to, utilizes resources of and supports the booster association.
- Maintains communications with ublic relations agencies.
- Reports evidence of suspected child abuse as required by law.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.

- Duties may include communicating needed assistance to assigned aides and volunteers.
