JOB DESCRIPTION *Severe needs Special education paraprofessionals work under the direction of a certified teacher and generally work in an inclusionary setting. Their assignments are based on the student's needs as determined by their IEP. *A special education paraprofessional is a teacher assistant who works with students with special needs to help them access the general education curriculum: *Provide one-on-one tutoring, help students understand test and homework questions, and assist with assessments *Help with organizing materials and classroom management *Provide extra assistance and support during lessons, and help students with their physical, emotional, and safety needs *Assist teachers with grading, recording documentation, and participating in meetings *Additional Duties as Assigned. COMPENSATION Salary commensurate with education and experience and includes individual medical, dental, life insurance, and retirement benefits through PERA. Work Year: 153 days for teaching staff. Follows PCSD Calendar (Monday - Thursday). Expected hours: 7:30-4:30 daily
