POSITION TITLE: Teaching and Learning Office Professional
FTE: 1.0
POSITION LOCATION: Earhart Administration Building
SALARY: Category Z, 12-month, AAEA/OP Salary Schedule
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and Director of Federal, State and Special Programs
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Teaching & Learning Department Secretary provides secretarial services to the teaching and learning team, and supports the Director of Federal, State and Special Programs in executing district, state and federal grants. This position also performs reception desk duties on a rotational basis with other office professionals. Problem solving, high level of discernment and execution of directions is essential to this role along with proficient technical skills.

This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, a high level of organization to track a high volume of information, processes and approvals through their entire cycle.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma with some college experience preferred. Proficient with Google Suite especially Sheets/Excel including sorting, filtering and to generate simple to intermediate formulas.
Experience with New World preferred
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process and route grant requests including but not limited to registration for conferences, booking consultants and processing payments.
Transfer information with high level of detail and accuracy.
Communicate with vendors and consultants.
Register staff of conferences and professional learning.
Monitor library budget limitations and order materials for school libraries.
Quote and purchase materials for instructional programs.
Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Manage multiple projects and communicate completion and challenges proactively.
Maintain accurate records of transactions and approval history.
Provide strong customer service for staff, vendors and families.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The employee supervises students during the lunch program and is directly responsible for their safety and well-being.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to understand and read budgets and to create and track purchases within the budget.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to adequately respond on the phone or in person in a customer service-oriented, friendly manner. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with fidelity.
