This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in a safe and caring environment. Job Requirements: Provide a positive environment and instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and needs. Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement weekly general music lessons for students in grades K-8th.
Teach music theory, rhythm, singing, movement, and basic instrumental instruction.
Prepare and lead students in school performances and liturgical celebrations as needed (e.g., holiday programs, school Masses, concerts).
Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to integrate music into the broader curriculum and school events.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that nurtures students’ creativity and confidence.
Communicate regularly with families and staff regarding student progress and upcoming performances.
Maintain classroom instruments and materials; request supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field required.
Valid teaching license or certification preferred.
Prior experience teaching music to elementary-aged children preferred.
Proficiency in vocal and instrumental music.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to upholding the values and mission of a faith-based school community.
Work Schedule:
16 Hours per Week
Schedule to be determined in collaboration with school administration.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and education.
