Special Education Teacher - IEP Writer - Full-Time
EFFECTIVE: AUGUST 1, 2025
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable IEP Writer to join our education team. The
IEP Writer will be responsible for drafting high-quality, compliant Individualized Education
Programs (IEPs) that align with federal, state, and district regulations. The ideal candidate has
experience in special education, strong writing skills, and a deep understanding of student
needs and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
? Collaborate with special education teachers, service providers, and school staff to gather
data and insights for IEP development.
? Draft accurate and compliant IEPs, including present levels of performance, goals,
accommodations, and service delivery plans.
? Ensure all IEP documents meet IDEA requirements and district standards.
? Support case managers and educators during IEP meetings by preparing documentation
and updating drafts.
? Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation and communication.
? Monitor timelines and ensure IEPs are completed in accordance with mandated
deadlines.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field
? Experience with IEP writing and special education documentation (minimum 1–2 years
preferred).
? Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and state-specific special education regulations.
? Strong written communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
? Familiarity with TnPulse platform
? Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education.
? Previous experience working in a school setting.
? Bilingual abilities are a plus.
