SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This is a position specializing in behavior change for our school community. The function of this role is to address challenging behaviors of students at the Child and Career Development Center (CCDC) and provide direct assistance to educational staff, administrators, and parents in the areas of behavior change. The Behavior Consultant provides individual and group trainings, conducts and supports functional behavior analyses and positive behavior support plans, advises administrators and staff regarding best practices and regulations, works as a collaborative consultant with school and agency personnel, and provides expertise regarding behavior modification in complex cases. The Behavior Consultant provides services and documents that are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. All services and documents provided by the Behavior Consultant are based on best practices, research validated methods, and PDE supported procedures and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree required
- Licensed Behavior Specialist Consultant in Pennsylvania required
- Experience working with children and adolescents with severe and complex behavior challenges in a school, community or residential setting is required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required
- PA Child Abuse History, PA Criminal Records Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearances required
DIMENSIONS AND ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS OF THE POSITION:
- Directly reports to the Clinical Coordinator.
- Communicates directly with LEAs related to their students.
- Effectively communicates/collaborates with administration, and teaching staff regarding students’ behaviors of concern.
1. Provide consultation to staff through observations, functional behavior assessment, behavior modification plan development, consultations, and recommendations related to the needs of individual students, utilizing best practice, research validation methodologies, and PDE endorsed practices.
2. Conduct functional behavioral assessments for students in the school, home, or community setting.
3. Create individualized positive behavioral support plans to address the target behaviors.
4. Train staff, parents, and students on implementation of the plan. Monitor treatment integrity and provide feedback when needed.
5. Develop and oversee ongoing behavior data collection and present summarized data when needed.
6. Assist staff in maintaining the level of expertise within their programs regarding the proper methods of deescalating challenging and complex behaviors presented by students.
7. Provide direct intervention support to students both proactively to teach new skills and reactively to facilitate the de-escalation of the student.
8. Provide training, staff development, and informational support in all aspects behavior change with challenging behaviors to LEA staff, parents, students and agency personnel.
9. Maintain professional and legally compliant documentation of services and student related paperwork.
10. Stay knowledgeable in best practice and research validated practices.
11. Perform additional duties as needed and specified by supervisor
Salary:
*Starting salary determined by years of experience in similar role(s)
Project Staff; Level 14, Exempt
$47,057.88 - $58,822.53 (24-25 School year salary range)
$48,705.03 - $60,881.11 (25-26 School year salary range)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 7.5 hrs/day; 190 days/year
