Description

Position Title:             Employee Relations Coordinator
 
Reports To:                 Director of Human Resources & Asst. Superintendent of HR
 
Supervises:                 None
 
Knowledge & Skills     Strong oral and written communication skills;
Required:                    Strong Decision-making and interpersonal relationship skills;
                                    Successful teaching and/or Human Resources experience;
                                    Experience in computerized database and/or spreadsheet systems.
                                    Supervisory and/or administrative experience preferred.
 
Education, Training    NC Educator’s License
Required:                    Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
 
Term of Employment: 12 months
 
Responsibilities/Duties:
 

  • Monitor the Classified Personnel non-reappoint process, Performance Improvement Plans, and documentation of Below Standard ratings.
  • Monitor the status of classified personnel on LOA, Worker’s Compensation, and Short-Term Disability.
  • Attend Recruitment Events as Needed.
  • Assist with intakes of employee concerns.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources with investigations.
  • Update and Maintain the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain required reports for Pitt County Schools and the Department of Public Instruction.
  • Send out and collect Teacher Exit survey forms.
  • Lead planning and coordination for the Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year Luncheon and Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year Celebration.
  • Correspond with principals and directors regarding paperwork and processes.
  • Assist with other departmental functions/events.
  • Assist in providing Professional Development to personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
