Student Monitors
$14.00/hr (sick time, personal days & paid holidays)
5 days per week
15 - 29.5 hours per week (depending on the needs of the building)
3 - 5.9 hours per day (depending on the needs of the building)
Representative Duties: Exercise student supervision in areas as assigned by the principal/assistant principal. Carry out other tasks as the principal/assistant principal may assign, consistent with the role of Student Monitor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills - Ability to learn job guidelines and to apply them on a daily basis; knowledge of school
rules and basic concepts/techniques of child discipline. Ability to get along with other noon-aides, parents and teachers.
Knowledge of basic structure of public education.
Characteristics/Traits - Concern for children’s health, safety and learning. Patience in dealing with children’s problems
and behavior. Willingness to take such training programs as the district may provide. Punctuality, dependability,
eligibility in work habits. Good health and moral character. Concern for education. Discretion and good judgment.
Toleration for inclement weather.
Education /Experience/Training - High school diploma or equivalent required. Requires BCI/FBI background check.
The Ohio Department of Education requires a one-year student monitor permit ($25.00 online fee). (Application completed during the hiring process.)
Experience with supervision of children in public or private sector desirable.
Training in first aid and CPR desirable but not required.
BCI/FBI background check administered at the Board of Education upon hire ($47.25 fee).
