Description
The Delaware Military Academy is looking for a certified World Language teacher to start in August 2025. The ideal candidate will hold a Delaware teaching certificate in one or more World Languages (Spanish preferred) and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Support the academic, social, emotional and leadership growth of each cadet
• Plan and deliver academic lessons that are aligned with the state standards for world languages
• Communicate (positively and growth opportunities) with parents on a regular basis
• Maintain grades in a timely manner
• Work collaboratively with the other world language teachers to ensure vertical alignment of the program
• Provide additional instruction, as needed, for struggling cadets
• Participate as part of a larger team of academic professionals to ensure the success of our cadets
• Be an integral part of the DMA program through extracurricular activities and professional development
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a Delaware teaching certificate in one or more World Languages (Spanish preferred) and have experience in a secondary setting. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to multitask. The ideal candidate will have experience with developing world language lessons which utilize the interactive whiteboard and serve the needs of a variety of learners. Teachers are expected to work in a professional setting and be willing to collaborate with other grade level and content area teachers. This position will be a part of our World Languages department.
PREFERRED SKILLS?
Experience with interactive whiteboards
Experience with Schoology or similar Learning Management System (LMS)
Experience with Student Information Systems (PowerSchool or Infinite Campus)
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products and the use of Chromebooks in a 1:1 setting
