Description
Outreach Specialist
BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum two years experience working in social services, community, education or related field.
2. Bilingual in the English and Spanish languages required.
3. High School Diploma or GED.
4. Demonstrates knowledge and sensitivity of children and families of various socioeconomic statuses and multicultural
5. environments including populations of the Southwest and other diverse populations.
6. Knowledge of family and group dynamics/systems.
7. Experience working with early childhood education or readiness programs.
8. Familiarity and experience working with children and families in a community based setting preferred.
9. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality, HIPAA guidelines and exhibit mature judgment and emotional stability.
10. Excellent and effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including speaking in front of groups.
11. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and the organizational skills to coordinate trainings and events.
12. Ability to function effectively in a variety of community settings and with diverse populations.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
1. Promote community awareness of HOI programs/services and early childhood through conducting community outreach
2. including; families, local businesses, community partners, etc.
3. Responsible for engaging families to participate in HOI programs/services.
4. Support in recruiting families to participate in parenting classes.
5. Work with parent educators to support and coach parent outreach and recruitment at HOI and ISD.
6. Promote the retention of HOI program enrolled families.
7. Conduct home visits with families for one-on-one support and further family recruitment and retention.
8. Support in data collection for programming and services offered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary position
Repetitive motion and eyestrain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.
SALARY RANGE: Classified Exempt (RANGE TBD)
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 months*
REPORTS TO: Director of Family and Community Engagement
