Job Title: Adult Education Instructor - Healthcare Pathways
Job Description: Faribault Public Schools Adult Education is seeking an Adult Education instructor to lead weekly learning communities and provide wraparound services for healthcare career- and college-seeking students. Licensed teachers paid at $32.31 per hour.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop instructional materials and lesson plans tailored to the needs and skill levels of adult learners seeking healthcare-related careers and college programs.
- Provide dynamic and interactive instruction tailored for adult learners, employing diverse teaching methods to suit various learning styles effectively.
- Assess learners' needs and provide wraparound services while following grant requirements.
- Enter weekly case notes into Workforce One system.
- Administer assessments and evaluate student performance to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide personalized instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of adult learners, including those with different learning abilities and backgrounds.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics, promoting mutual respect, and enforcing relevant policies and procedures.
- Incorporate technology tools and resources effectively into instruction to enhance learning outcomes and facilitate student engagement.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students to help them achieve their learning goals and overcome challenges.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and other stakeholders to align instructional goals, share best practices, and contribute to program development and improvement.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay updated on best practices, emerging trends, and innovations in adult education and to maintain licensure.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement, and prepare timely reports for internal and external stakeholders, as required.
- Advocate for the needs and interests of adult learners, including advocating for resources, services, and supports to promote student success and retention.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competence in working with diverse adult learner populations, respecting individual differences and promoting inclusivity.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders through verbal, written, and digital channels to facilitate learning and collaboration.
- Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards governing adult education programs, ensuring compliance in all instructional activities and interactions.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Valid MN Teaching License
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Experience providing wraparound services to adults.
- Experience using Workforce One Data Entry system.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Fluent in Spanish or Somali.
- Familiarity with Adult Education Assessments (CASAS, TABE, GED).
