Description
Comfort High School is seeking a dedicated Marine Instructor (MI) to supervise and
train cadets within our Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (MCJROTC) program. The
MI plays a vital role in mentoring cadets, delivering curriculum-based instruction, and
promoting leadership, citizenship, and community service in accordance with U.S. Marine
Corps and district guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Marine Corps standards and school district policies.
- Instruct cadets using the Marine Corps-approved Program of Instruction (POI).
- Develop and support co-curricular teams such as drill, academic, physical fitness, and
- Organize and participate in community service events, competitions, and school
- Collaborate with school leadership, parents, and community stakeholders to promote program awareness and cadet success.
- Maintain accurate records and accountability of all equipment and instructional

Qualifications:
- Must be certified as a Marine Corps JROTC Instructor by the Marine Corps Training and Education Command.
- Must meet one of the following Marine Corps service categories:
- Category I - Officers and Senior enlisted Marines ; on active duty who have 18 or more years of active service, whom retired or have transferred to the IRR pending retirement, whom are TERA & Combat Wounded Marines with an official retirement date
- Category II - Reserve Officers and senior enlisted Marines who have completed 20 years of honorable service are eligible to apply to become JROTC instructors. This includes Retirement through SMCR and IRR.
- Category III - Marines in pay grade E5 (Sergeants) and above who have separated with 8 plus years of active service and who have no more than 5 years since separation for active duty.
- Category IV - SMCR Marines in pay grade E5 (Sergeants) and above.
- Prospective instructors must have a favorable recommendation from their last reporting senior and a career record that demonstrates good judgment, charterer, and honorable service.
- Marine Instructor (MI) must also possess an Associate Degree or obtain one within five years of being hired, have a competitive military record, and be physically qualified according to MCJROTC standards.
