Help Desk Employee - IT Department
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Instruction - Technology
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required. Associates degree in related field preferred
Minimum experience as determined by the Board in consultation with the Supervisor of Insturction/Technology
Demonstrated knowledge of school hardware, software, and cloud platforms
Digital Fluency is required
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
JOB GOAL:
To provide technical assistance to all VTSD employees.The ideal candidate must be able to work well and communicate with the faculty and staff members. Must be able to escalate issues to appropriate staff when problems occur. Must be able to prioritize help desk calls to meet the needs of the organization. Candidate must be willing to learn new concepts quickly and implement them correctly. This job will grow to include new tasks and skills.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to resolve Chromebook, laptop and desktop problems with troubleshooting, repair and replacement
Troubleshoot and repair CPU peripherals such as printers, mice, keyboards and monitors
Debug, troubleshoot and repair software problems with BIOS, OS and other software on organization’s machines
Reimaging troubled PC’s and summer rollouts.
Securing desktops and laptops at a local level
Ordering parts and equipment through warranties
SKILLS:
A+ and Network+ certifications are helpful
Expert troubleshooting skills
Ability to work under pressure
Expert Knowledge of Windows operating systems
Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Office
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
