DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements the school's attendance policy as well as schedules and conducts Corrective Action Plan (CAP) meetings when required.
- Responds to teacher requests and referrals concerning student disciplinary situations and takes appropriate disciplinary action.
- Confers with students and their families regarding disciplinary referrals and attendance issues.
- Refers students for alternative school services, when appropriate.
- Enforces Hampton City School Division regulations relative to residence and school zone assignments.
- Communicates with social workers and makes referrals concerning attendance and behavior, as well as communicates with officers of the court and police concerning student attendance and behavior.
- Represents the school on attendance related committees.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in School Administration and Supervision required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational, planning and human relations skills.
- Good knowledge of techniques and principles for effective discipline.
- Good knowledge of disciplinary and attendance procedures of the Hampton City Schools.
