School Counselor: Preschool - 8th Grade, Holy Rosary School Seattle

Holy Rosary School (Seattle) is a dynamic STEM plus Catholic school in West Seattle dedicated to helping their students grow as disciples of Christ. Serving over 500 students from preschool - 8th grade, we looking for a full time school counselor to join our faculty of committed, faith-filled, and collaborative educators.
When
The position will begin with the opening of the 2025-26 academic year, though work in late August will be necessary in preparation for the school year.
Position
The school counselor will collaborate with homeroom teachers, supporting students and facilitating the implementation of curriculum to promote emotionally safe classrooms. The counselor will also deliver Tier I social-emotional curriculum to classes, meet with students individually, and facilitate student social groups during lunch or recess.
Goal
To foster a safe learning environment for all students, promoting the social-emotional development of each student in the Catholic school environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- WA State ESA certification as a school counselor preferred; other professional certification (i.e. MSW, LMHC) will be considered
- Experience working with the academic, social, and emotional needs of elementary age students and parents in a school setting.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information with parents, teachers and administrators.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making.
- Experience with student and parent programming and informational sessions.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of social-emotional curriculum and frameworks including Second Step and PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support)
Duties (including, but not limited to)
- Provide students with counseling in both individualized and group settings to ensure academic and emotional progress
- Work with faculty and parents to address any performance and/or behavioral concerns and facilitate appropriate interventions
- Deliver developmentally-appropriate tier I and II structured lessons to help students attain personal/social competencies
- Utilize data to determine the effectiveness of the school counseling program and counseling interventions and to guide future actions
- Contribute to at least one other area of school life, which will be determined for this position based on background, interest, and school need
- Refer children needing additional screening to appropriate outside agencies or resources
- Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
Salary/Benefits Information: Salary range: $57,150 - $100,211. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
