Description
Hutchinson Public Schools is seeking an ADSIS Education Assistant at Tiger Elementary for the 2025 - 2026 school year and beyond.
The ADSIS Education Assistant will provide support, explanation, re-teaching, and instructional help for students. The first 30 minutes per day will be spent as a Student Supervisor during parent drop-off, and the remainder of the day will be spent as an ADSIS Education Assistant. The Student Supervisor monitors students during non-classroom activities, making sure school rules are followed to ensure student safety.
This position will work approximately 6.4 hours daily for 175 days per school year. The salary range is $18.27 per hour—$20.77 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality standards by adhering to the district’s data privacy policy.
- Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce the teachings of the classroom teacher.
- Provide a safe space for students to take a break, assess their behavior choices, and communicate with parents
- Conferring and planning with teachers to recommend ideas, identify problems, and aid in problem-solving.
- Help students strengthen their skills to become more independent.
- Help the classroom teacher keep records of the students' progress. Conducts informal assessments to measure students’ mastery of learned materials as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Attend meetings and in-service for staff development. Follow suggestions made by classroom teachers, the principal, and others who may provide staff development.
