Summer CTE Intern (ASP) (Contingent Grant Award)

Job Title:  ASP CTE Intern                                                   Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to:  Director, ASP                                                    Pay Grade: $15.00/hour
Works with:  School Personnel/Public                                   Days:
Dept./School:  After School Program           



Primary Purpose:
 
To provide students with real-world, hands-on experience in a designated career pathway aligned with their CTE program of study.
Interns will apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting, build workplace competencies, and gain insight into future career opportunities.
 
Prerequisites:
 

• Currently enrolled in CTE program related to the internship
• Currently a San Benito CISD Sophomore or Junior
• Recommendation from a CTE instructor

• Good organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to work well with people
• Basic technical proficiency relevant to the internship field
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

 
Major Responsibilities / Duties:
 

1. Basic technical proficiency relevant to the internship field.

 

2. Attend required check-ins or training sessions coordinated by the Project Director or Work-Based Learning coordinator.

 

3. Adhere to all workplace policies, including safety protocols and professional conduct standards.

 

4. Participate in end-of-internship evaluation and present a summary of experiences and skills acquired.

 

5. Other program related duties as assigned by work-based learning coordinator, department staff and project director.

 

6. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
 
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
 
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
 
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
 
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
 
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
 
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
