Position Overview
The Technology Integration & AI Consultant leads AI and technology integration in K-12 classrooms, supporting teachers with AI tools for lesson planning, data management, and personalized instruction. This role also has the potential to develop AI-focused curriculum and oversee a high school student cohort trained to assist peers and educators in AI applications across academic subjects and the arts.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Integration & Educator Support
- Train and support teachers in ESC affiliated districts using AI and educational technology platforms for instruction, assessments, and administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with content area consultants to personalize learning and develop instructional AI resources that enhance their educational support and effectiveness.
- Lead and collaborate with colleagues to create professional development on the use of technology platforms and tools that will help with data use, instruction, and assessment.
- Present workshops on AI literacy as well as acceptable use of technology for instructional purposes for both teacher and students.
- Facilitate districts with the creation of AI policies for students and teachers.
- Aide districts in finding and writing grants to fund the use of technology and AI in schools/classrooms.
- Remains updated with ongoing development in AI and technology as it applies to K-12 education
- Help educators implement AI and other technology platforms for personalized learning and efficiency.
- Knowledge of and facilitate PD on data-collection platforms to help teachers and administrators make data informed decisions.
- Advise school leadership on AI and technology driven software and best practices.
- Promote responsible AI use, digital citizenship, and data privacy.
- Develop a high school AI & Technology course covering AI literacy, machine learning, coding, ethics, and real-world applications.
- Create a middle school introductory AI course with foundational AI concepts and hands-on projects.
- Integrate AI principles across various subjects, including STEM and the arts, assists development of curriculum for high school in using AI and technology tools to prepare for entry into the workforce, college, and the military
- Recruit and mentor high school students as an AI & technology support team .
- Assist teachers in developing student-led projects, workshops, and peer tutoring using AI tools.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Educational Technology, Computer Science, Instructional Design, or a Teaching Degree with extensive classroom technology experience.
- Strong background in K-12 technology integration and curriculum development.
- Experience with AI and technology platforms/tools like Google Suite, ChatGPT, Canva, adaptive learning platforms, spreadsheets and generative AI.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Teaching experience with a record of innovative technology use.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in Educational Technology or AI in Education (preferred but not required).
- Experience in coding, robotics, digital content creation, and generative AI for the arts.
- K-12 experience as a classroom teacher and/or administrator with valid license
- Familiarity with accessibility technologies for diverse learners.
