Description

General DescriptionInstruct high school students in the basic skills related to the construction trades industry.
 
Qualifications:

-OSHA Certification
-Have considerable work experience in all aspects of the construction trades field.
-Must meet all qualifications for the appropriate license though the Illinois State Board of Education.  Valid Professional Educator License that is current and registered in DuPage County with endorsement in Construction Trades (Candidates with valid ISBE teaching licenses must also have at least two years of directly related work experience).

Meet ISBE Requirements for either a Career and Technical Education License or a Provisional Career and Technical Education License:
 
Requirements for the Career and Technical Education License:

  • Official transcripts, in unopened, sealed envelopes, showing 60 semester hours of credit from a recognized educational institution.
    • Documented evidence of 2,000 hours of work experience in the skill area.
Requirements for the Provisional Career and Technical Education License

  • Documented evidence of 8,000 hours of work experience in the specific skill area to be taught.
Compensation: Placement on the instructors' salary schedule is determined by level of education and related work experience (Salary range $55-$73K)
