Principles of Engineering/ Digital Electronics Teacher with an Emphasis on Computer Science
Position Summary:
To prepare secondary students for entry into college, technical training, or the workforce through the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Pathway. Courses taught include, but are not limited to, Principles of Engineering (POE) and Digital Electronics will enable students to connect career and technical studies that align their academic learning with career skills.
Classes: Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics
Topics covered: Materials, Control Systems (Robotics), Statistics and Kinematics, Computer 3D Modeling, Circuit Design, etc.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
- Facilitate with guided lessons and activities for students
- Manage components of the engineering instructional budget
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning
- Modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs
- Conduct individual and small group instruction as needed
- Instruct students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the Cabot School District
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws
- Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
- Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
- Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
- Coordinate with other professional staff members, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participate in faculty meetings and committees
- Supervise students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation as needed
- Administer assessments in accordance with district, state and national programs
- Adhere to all policies of the District and the Arkansas Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the building administrator and other central office administrators, as designated by the Superintendent

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles
- Knowledge of engineering curriculum and concepts
- Knowledge of data analysis and information
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications
- Ability to organize and coordinate work
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
Certification/License: Must have the appropriate engineering endorsement on teaching certificate
