Description
The Cedar Cliff Local School District is seeking a School Safety Officer. This is a 185 day, 7.75 hours per day position. Compensation per negotiated agreement. Candidate must possess Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training and/or complete training from the Ohio School Safety Center as directed by the district.
Responsibilities include:
-participating in the development of and taking a lead role in carrying out all aspects of the School Safety Plan.
-serving as a liaison between the district and law enforcement
-building rapport with students through mentorship and occassional substitute roles
-providing supervision and direction at arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and class change
-supporting staff in other classifications by assisting wiith tasks such as lunchroom clean-up
-proactively anticipating situations that might escalate and intervening or being present to avoid such from occuring
-Responding to situations that are escalating and attempting to descalate them
-following all district policies, especially those related to student privacy, search and seizure, etc.
