Veterinary Technology Teacher

POSITION OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT
 
TYPE:                         Veterinary Technology Teacher
                                    Full-time Position
 
START:                      2025-2026 School Year
 
LOCATION:              Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Schnecksville, PA
 
CURRICULUM:        Responsible to offer a Veterinary Technology program within the LCTI                                                   curriculum model
 
CONTRACT:             All employment conditions and benefits determined by the LCTI Education
                                    Association Agreement
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Meets one of the following criteria:
   1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an AVMA accredited institution AND currently licensed by the PA State Board of Veterinary Medicine OR
   2. Has an Associate or Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medical Technology AND currently licensed as a Veterinary Technician by the PA State Board of Veterinary Medicine
2. Minimum four (4) years full-time work experience above & beyond a training period
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

                       
            PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Successful credential review for occupational competency area Veterinarian Assistant (2550)
2. Knowledgeable of all OSHA standards that relate to safety and environment factors in the                veterinary industry
3. Willingness to pursue and maintain industry recognized credentials and/or certification, including participation in technical seminars, workshops and classes related to the occupation
4. Willing to pursue and maintain teaching certification (CIP code 01.8301 - Veterinary/Animal Health Technology/Technician and Veterinary Assistant)
5. Experience working with high school youth a plus
