- In order to be considered for this position, the following steps are required:
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Interview with a member of the Human Resources team
- Candidates selected through the interview process will then participate in a new hire orientation
- No applicant may start as a substitute until the hiring and orientation process is complete.
Job Description:
TITLE: Substitute Cafeteria Worker
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
2. Has received or is eligible to receive certification as a school food service employee by the Division of School Food Service
3. Has specialized skills in basic mathematics
4. Is neat and clean in person, and in work habits
5. Has ability to read and follow written directions and recipes
6. Has the ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds numerous times per day
7. Has ability to operate equipment used in school cafeteria such as cash register, slicer, grater, mixer, steamer, frying machine, dishwasher, steam cart, ovens, etc.
REPORTS TO: Manager Cafeteria
JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be familiar with written guidelines, policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
2. Assist in preparation of food
3. Assist in collecting money for meals and beverages sold
4. Move equipment, supplies and furniture as required for area of responsibility
5. Keep his or her work area clean
6. Serve food
7. Assist with dish washing
8. Assist with end of day cleaning and leftover storage
9. Assist in recording daily records
10. Attend in-service training or food service workshops
11. Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor

- Daily assignments are arranged through the Secretary, Teacher, Frontline, or Principal
