Director of Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction

The South Portland School Department, serving just under 3,000 students in a vibrant and inclusive community, is seeking a dynamic and equity-driven educational leader to serve as our Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.

We are a district deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we believe that a strong, well-coordinated instructional program is essential to the success of all learners. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead district-wide efforts to elevate teaching and learning, support professional development, and ensure that every student receives a high-quality, equitable education from PreK through grade 12.

The Director will lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of the district’s curriculum, instructional practices, assessment systems, and professional learning programs. This role will work closely with building principals, department heads, curriculum leaders, and district-level administrators to align educational programs and ensure instructional coherence and equity across the district.

State of Maine Curriculum Coordinator/Supervisor 078 certification required.
