The Department of Special Services is looking for a Leave of Absence School Psychologist. Candidates should have strong communication skills for working with families, students, and staff.
Looking for someone who is creative, energetic and willing to work on a team.
The following experiences are an integral part of the position:
1. Master's degree or higher with a valid New Jersey School Psychologist certificate required.
2. Conducts psychological assessments and prepares evaluation reports, and interprets results.
3. Works as a member of the multidisciplinary team to oversee the IEP process and make recommendations for academic programming.
4. Updates IEP documents as required by NJAC 6A:14 for assigned students and families.
5. Provides case management for assigned students and families.
6. Provides counseling services both individually and within a small group setting to fulfill IEP requirements.
7. Partners with community organizations and makes referrals as necessary to assist students with addressing barriers to educational programming.
8. Communicates with parents and families to provide information regarding the academic and social-emotional needs of families.
9. Consults with building-level administration and staff to ensure the fidelity of students’ educational programming.
