TITLE: BILINGUAL TEACHER/FACILITATOR
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Illinois teacher certificate.
Meets qualifications for Provisional ESL Certificate.
Bi-linqual Certification
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Possesses a valid Illinois driver’s license.
Ability to communicate effectively.
REPORTS TO: Director of Pupil Personnel Services
JOB GOAL:
To develop, implement and coordinate a district-wide program for identified bilingual students.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains state and federal guidelines for Bilingual Transition Programs;
- Maintains accurate, complete, and appropriate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation;
- Assists administration in implementing district policies and procedures;
- Serves as a liaison to parents for language assistance;
- Serve as a liaison for non-English speaking community members in education-related issues;
- Assesses student progress and adjusts program or instructional techniques to maximize student achievement;
- Meets and instructs students in both English and Spanish;
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as necessary;
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities;
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students;
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals;
- Establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, projects;
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media;
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives;
- Maintains a safe environment for students and staff;
- Performs all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions established by the Board of Education.
SALARY RANGE: Salary and benefits per FEA contract.
