Supervisor of Elementary and Student Supports - Shaw Elementary

Beavercreek City Schools is seeking a Supervisor of Elementary and Student Supports at Shaw Elementary School.

Certification/Licensure:  All applicants must possess a valid Ohio Certificate/License in the appropriate areas.

All applicants must possess or be eligible for a valid Ohio educator license or certificate for the appropriate grade level and content area(s) of instruction.

Science of Reading Information

Beavercreek City Schools is committed to meeting the requirements of the State of Ohio as outlined in Ohio Revised Code 3313.6028 requiring districts to use the science of reading for literacy instruction. “Science of Reading” is defined in the law as an interdisciplinary body of scientific evidence that informs how students learn to read and write proficiently.  Any employees new to the district will be guided on what professional development to complete based on your teaching assignment and a timeline for completion.

The contract information is as follows: Two (2) Year, 213 days per year with a salary from $97,053 to $110,895 plus longevity and training credit.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Supports a full range of educational options.

2. Supervises the building special education program ensuring compliance with state mandates in special education. 

3. Promotes development of staff leadership.

4. Works with special education staff to ensure the provision of services mandated by state and federal law.  Facilitates and participates in IEP meetings. 

5. Maintains high standards for student conduct.

6. Monitors special education laws, rules, and regulations. Develops administrative procedures necessary to comply with legislative mandates in special education. Works with staff to ensure that services are provided in the least restrictive educational environment.

7. Provides leadership to achieve the district’s written, implemented, and assessed curricula and mandated proficiencies.
