Job Title: Student Services Specialist
Location: SAU 13
Reports To: Director of Student Services 

Position Type: Full-Time / 260 days per year

Position Summary:

SAU 13, (the districts of Tamworth, Madison and Freedom) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Services Specialist to join our Student Services team. This role is designed for a dynamic professional who holds certification as a Special Educator and is a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the state of New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal regulations.
     

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on data-driven analysis.
     

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students, staff, and families to promote positive behavior and academic success.
     

  • Train and support school personnel in implementing effective behavioral strategies and accommodations.
     

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and evaluate programs and services for students with exceptional needs.
     

  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and other relevant state and federal laws.
     

  • Serve as a liaison between the school and families, ensuring open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
     

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student services, evaluations, progress monitoring, and compliance reporting.
     

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid New Hampshire Special Education Certification
     

  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential
     

Preferred:

  • Experience in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) or positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS)
     

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
     

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
