POSITION GOAL
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for managing, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive school occupational therapy program which should provide a continuum of services to meet the needs of the students
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy
Certification State of NH Office of Allied Health Professionals Occupational Therapist License
Experience One to three years related work preferred
Criminal Record Check Required per NH RSA 189: 13-a
Pre Employment Medical Exam Required per NH RSA 200:36 and 275:3
EVALUATION
Performance of position responsibilities will be evaluated annually in accordance with the approved administrative procedure for staff evaluations

GENERAL RESPONSIBILTIES
- Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide an appropriate school program for educationally challenged students
- Administer, interpret and relate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, in accordance with the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. and within the guidelines of IDEA and District policy
- Adhere to special education policies and procedures for assessing, developing and revising and reviewing occupational therapy services in meeting the educational need of the students of Hooksett. Ensure that treatment programs are appropriate and based on the needs of the child. Attend/participate in Evaluation Team Meetings for the development of Individual Education Plans and 504 Plans
- Plan, develop and supervise annual occupational therapy programs required for identified students
- Provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Develop/oversee treatment plans and all other duties assigned to COTA, in accordance with the principals and standards set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association and the licensing board of the State
- Maintain treatment areas and equipment as required
- Provide recommendations, consultations, program training, collaborate treatment with the team member(s) and/or direct therapy. Supervise/teach students, parents and other staff performing supportive series as identified within IEP’s
- Demonstrate flexibility in meeting the needs of students, areas and equipment as required
- Communicate with the Director of Special Services regularly regarding clinical need, goals and potential conflict situations

SCHEDULE: 7 hours per day, 186 days per year (follows the school year schedule, with the summer off)
PAY: $43,926 - $87,125
