Proof of High School Diploma (Transcript)
Complete and Pass BCI & FBI Background Checks and Drug Screening
Obtain Ohio 1 Year Temporary (Non-Bachelor’s) Substitute Teaching License -
Substitute Rate of Pay = $140.00/day
You must have current BCI and FBI background checks. If you do not, please contact the
Ashtabula County Educational Service Center at 440-576-9023 to schedule an appointment
to have them completed. https://www.ashtabulaesc.org/background-checks-fingerprinting
(The cost is $60 for both)
You must pass a drug screen. Cost is $39 and is paid at the Board of Education Office
If you do not already have an OHID account, you must create one using the link below:
https://ohid.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/ohid
Once you have created an OHID account, click on the App Store and add the Educator
Licensure and Records (CORE) app.
Apply for the substitute teaching license that you qualify for:
- Click on Apply for a NEW credential then click on Substitutes.
- From the dropdown list choose the appropriate license and apply. ( Ohio 1 Year Temporary (Non-Bachelor’s) Substitute Teaching License)
- The Geneva City School District IRN that you will need to enter for signature is #044057 . The cost is $25. After your license is issued, please submit a copy to the Board Office.
