Summary:
The Data and Technology Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving data-informed decision-making across the district. This position leads efforts to collect, analyze, and visualize data to evaluate instructional effectiveness, monitor student outcomes, and guide programmatic improvement. In addition to supporting data initiatives, the specialist provides technical assistance to the Teaching and Learning Department and contributes to the successful coordination of district-wide projects, ensuring organizational efficiency through the use of data.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience working in a K–12 school district or educational setting preferred
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization in an educational or operational context
- Familiarity with project coordination tools and workflows
- Relevant certifications in data, technology support, IT management, or mobile device management preferred (e.g. CompTIA Data+, CompTIA A+, Jamf Certifications)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in data tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate trends in academic, behavioral, and operational data
- Strong understanding of how to use data to support instructional decision-making and program evaluation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex data clearly to a range of audiences
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort with troubleshooting digital tools and supporting users across varying skill levels
- Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and data integrity
- Ability to work independently and perform tasks assigned with minimal supervision
- High degree of professionalism and customer service skills
Essential Functions:
Data and Evaluation Support
- Collaborate with district leaders to collect, analyze, and visualize academic, behavioral, and programmatic data across multiple departments.
- Interpret and review assessment data (local, state, and national) with administrators and School Improvement Teams to support planning and progress monitoring.
- Prepare dashboards and reports to support School Improvement Plans, instructional decision-making, and monitoring of district initiatives.
- Assist in the evaluation of instructional programs by collecting, interpreting, and presenting relevant data.
- Fulfill data requests and provide consultation to schools and departments to guide data-informed decisions.
- Create presentations that clearly communicate data insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain longitudinal data files to track trends in student performance and program effectiveness.
- Develop user-friendly data visualizations and reports tailored to various stakeholder groups.
- Develop protocols to ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot inconsistencies, and ensure the validity and confidentiality of all data presented.
- Assist in designing data collection tools and instruments as needed to support program evaluation and stakeholder input.
- Attend department meetings and contribute to relevant project teams.
- Facilitate training and professional development sessions on data use, digital tools, and project systems.
Technology Support and Operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hardware, software, network systems, and educational technology tools, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Address and manage support tickets related to technology systems, ensuring timely resolution or appropriate escalation.
- Collaborate with the Technology and Teaching & Learning Departments to develop user documentation, support guides, and training resources.
- Support the deployment, installation, configuration, and maintenance of technology equipment, including printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Maintain accurate records of technology support activities, inventory, and the circulation of student and staff devices.
District Project Support
- Collect and analyze project-related data to assess impact, measure outcomes, and improve organizational efficiency.
- Support cross-departmental projects by monitoring timelines, facilitating data collection, and ensuring successful project completion.
- Maintain strong communication with school and district stakeholders to clarify project expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of district initiatives and departmental goals.
