Description
The Delaware Military Academy is looking for a creative and dedicated Biology & Anatomy/Physiology teacher starting in August of 2025. The ideal candidate will hold a Delaware teaching certificate in secondary biology and a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the academic, social, emotional and leadership growth of each cadet
• Plan and deliver academic lessons that are aligned with Next Generation Science standards
• Communicate (positively and growth opportunities) with parents on a regular basis
• Maintain grades in a timely manner
• Provide additional instruction, as needed, for struggling cadets
• Participate as part of a larger team of academic professionals to ensure the success of our cadets
• Provide support to cadets to ensure they are prepared for college entrance testing
• Become an integral part of the DMA program through extracurricular activities and professional development
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a Delaware teaching certificate in secondary biology. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to multitask. The ideal candidate will have experience with developing lessons which utilizes an interactive whiteboard and meet the needs of varied types of learners. Teachers are expected to work in a professional setting with other grade level and content area teachers. This position will be a part of the science department.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience with Interactive Whiteboards
• Experience with Infinite Campus or similar SIS
• Experience with Schoology or similar Learning Management System (LMS)
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products
