 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS

 

1. High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
2. Experience in general transportation operations.
3. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
4. Able to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

 
Assists the Director of Transportation in the administration of the student transportation services program. The Transportation Supervisor manages routing and assists with the dispatching of bus drivers to ensure safe, timely transportation of district students to school and related school events.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

1. Responsible for assisting in the overall direction of the transportation office in accordance with the Director of Transportation.
2. Responsible for routing on a daily basis, in addition to troubleshooting, evaluating efficiency of daily operations in accordance with board policy, established procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
3. Assists with time and attendance records for accuracy and compliance in accordance with district payroll department requirements.
4. Assists Director of Transportation when working with principals, parents, and bus drivers regarding student conduct.
5. Assists Traffic Managers in the maintenance and updating of student files.
6. May assist in attending accident/crash scenes as necessary.
7. Maintain accurate recordkeeping.
8. Willingness and ability to attend training for computerized routing programs as necessary.
9. Acts as a liaison with parents regarding concerns for transportation services.
10. Performs routine duties including, but not limited to: answering phones, processing messages, monitoring radio communication with the drivers, relaying information as needed, and processing bus videos.
11. May be required to drive bus routes as needed.
12. Collaborates with Director of Transportation during inclement weather.
13. May carry out supervisory duties under the discretion of the Director of Transportation.
14. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
