REPORTS TO:    Head Softball Coach, Athletics Director, HS Principal and HS Assistant Principal

DAYS PER YEAR: per contract

Summary/Objective
The Assistant Softball Coaching position in the Athletic Department at University Schools will. This position’s salary is set based on experience/qualifications and the curricular stipend pay schedule as approved by the Board of Governors. No benefits are available for this position.

Essential Job Functions

• Organization and development of softball program in collaboration with the Athletic department.
• Development and implementation of daily practices.
• Scouting of upcoming opponents and implementation of game plan.
• Being a positive role model for all of the student-athletes at the school.
• Know and understand CHSAA rules and regulations.
• Complete administrative elements necessary for advancement of the program.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

• Softball Coaching Experience.
• Experience in mentoring students.
• CHSAA athletic coaching certificate.

Working Conditions
 

• Works in standard office and school building environments.
• May be exposed to poor weather conditions including heat, cold, wet and snow and other outdoor weather conditions.
• The work environment combines standard office setting including some standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone, computer, 10-key, etc.)
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities.

 
About our School
 
For over 100 years the school operated as the UNC Laboratory School on the campus of the University of Northern Colorado.  In 2001, the school became an independent K-12 charter school in Weld County District 6 and changed its name to University Schools.  In August of 2002, the school moved to a new facility and has a population of 1,700 students.
