Posting Description: Special Education - Social Studies support teacher
Newark Charter School is seeking a candidate to serve as a Special Education teacher providing student support within Social Studies and ELA classrooms at the high school level. The candidate will be responsible for delivering specially designed instruction, supporting the implementation of IEP accommodations, and collaborating with general education teachers to ensure equitable access to grade-level content. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to inclusive practices, and a student-centered mindset.
The ideal candidate meets Delaware certification requirements for Exceptional Children (Special Education). Additional certification in high school Social Studies or ELA would be desirable.

Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of Employment: 10 month Position
Salary: Commensurate with degree level and experience
Minimum Qualifications: Teacher of Exceptional Children Grades K-12 is required, Secondary Social Studies or Secondary ELA is preferred

- Contribute to the school community outside of the instructional program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
