THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT
TITLE: LPN Nurses for MPS Community Programs – Rangers Club Summer Program - Grades K-8* and 21st CCLC Summer Program - Gr. 3-6*
Summer Program hours: Mondays through Fridays, either 8:00a.m.- 4:00p.m. or 2 Shifts: 8:00am-12:00pm and 12:00p.m.-4:00p.m.); field trip days may differ; 21st CCLC prog: 8:00 - 2:15pm
Program(s) to run through Summer 2025: from 6/23/25-8/8/25 (RC) & 7/7/25-7/31/25 (21st CCLC); Med. collection and epi-training before and after these dates may be required.
DATE OF OPENINGS: Immediately After 2024-2025 MPS School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified LPN Nurse(s) with prior experience in out-of-school time programs, e.g., Rangers Club, 21st CCLC Program preferred; experience in the Methuen Public Schools a plus; CPR cert. rqd.
Excellent organizational and record keeping skills, attendance record, and disposition
Successful experience working collaboratively with other educators, including teachers and staff within the Methuen Public Schools a plus
Experience working with K-8 students, including those who may be SWD, struggling or at-risk
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handle health issues of the program under supervision of Program RN(s)
Dispense medications and manage and maintain program’s health records
Travel on field trips, as needed
Meet with the program’s/supervising RN(s) and administrators to discuss health issues and/or issues of concern regarding students
Maintain required documentation & communication with supervising RN(s) and program’s administrators, & staff - as needed, re: particular health issues pertaining to the summer prog.
Submit reports accurately and in a timely manner as required by supervising RN(s) and program’s administrators
Excellent attendance required
Attend required orientation, workshops, and planning and training sessions
Perform other duties as required by the program’s RN(s), administrators, including counseling, emergency medical procedure training, and COVID contact tracing/notification as necessary.
*Positions may be split at discretion of the Program Manager
SALARY: $35/hr.
