Anticipated Elementary Learning Support - Emotional Support Teacher

Learning Support -  Emotional Support Teacher K-5

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, providing intervention and specialized educational programming.

Littlestown Area School District is seeing an  Individual to support students who require emotional support programming. Successful candidates should have a knowledge base and related experience in supporting the unique academic, emotional, and behavioral needs that an individual may encounter. The ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with parents and a team of professionals (general education teachers, related service providers, outside providers, administrators, other special education teachers) is essential.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Certification in Special Education
- Proficiency in working with children with diverse needs and abilities
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and child welfare practices

Preferred Experience but not required

• Understanding of: Applied Behavioral Analysis, Functional Behavioral Assessment, and Positive Behavioral Plans
• Experience with Learning Support, Emotional Support and Autistic Support population

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a contracted position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Position begins at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
 
All candidates must submit the PA Standard Teaching Application, cover letter, resume, transcripts, evidence of proper Pennsylvania certification, documentation of Act 48 requirements, three letters of recommendation and current Act 34, Act 151 and Federal (FBI) Criminal History Clearances within one year.
